Fifth Grade: A Year of Leadership & Excellence!

At Nolan, our fifth graders are becoming the leaders of tomorrow. We offer several opportunities for them to excel in this area: producing the morning announcements, raising the flag, serving as safety patrol officers, leading as Kindness Ambassadors, contributing as Student Council members, participating in the Talent Show, being a part of the go-kart, robotics, Perennial Math, and Science Olympiad Teams, and conserving our Earth by leading the Recycle Club. To help students meet the challenges ahead, we implement a meaningful standards-based plan of study through a rigorous curriculum. We emphasize a solid writing structure, integrating social studies and science topics. Reading skills and math concepts are sharpened to provide a strong foundation preparing our knights for middle school. In the last year of elementary school, we focus on organization skills, study skills, leadership skills, collaboration skills, and time management. Our goal is to produce confident leaders and learners with excellent work ethics, while making long-lasting memories along the way. Highlights of the year: Writers Night, Star Lab, Ben Roy, Special Field Day, Valentine Hoe Down, Track Meet Day, and an end of the year field trip.
