Summer Reading List

Nolan Families,

I hope you are having a great summer. I wanted to touch base and share information and summer opportunities.

First Lady Maria Lee’s Tennessee Kids Serve Summer Challenge is a great way to  get your children engaged in serving our community this summer.
Beginning June 1st through August 1st, rising kindergarten through sixth grade students can join First Lady Maria Lee to serve their local community during the Tennessee Kids Serve Summer Challenge.  Students across Tennessee can select a service project in their local area to complete over the summer. Participating students with the most service hours will be invited to join Governor Bill Lee and First Lady Maria Lee at the Tennessee Residence for a celebration in the fall.
Guidelines and additional information are available here. Parents can register their child here, or contact the Office of the First Lady at 615-741-7846.

Nolan's Summer Make. Play. Read. Learn Reading Challenge & Required Summer Reading

We encourage every Nolan Knight to have a goal to read 2000 minutes this summer and to log those minutes in the Make. Play. Read. Learn. app in classlink. Every child who achieves this goal will be awarded a 3-D medal and recognized at our first character assembly. While all students are encouraged to read for 20 minutes each day, rising 3rd-5th graders have required summer reading. A copy was sent home at the end of the school year.

K-5 School Supply Lists

HERE is the link for the school supply lists. If you purchased a school supply kit from the PTA in April, your child's supplies will be delivered to Nolan prior to August 6, which is our Meet Your Teacher and Registration Fair Event, 8:30-10am.
