Kindergarten: A Year of Curiosity and Exploration!
The goal of Nolan
Kindergarten is to set the foundations for a lifelong love of learning.
Kindergarten is a time for your child to grow academically, socially, and
emotionally. Our focus will be on the Kindergarten standards while learning to
become independent thinkers and problem solvers. Our students are actively
engaged through well planned literacy and math centers, giving them an
opportunity to explore and feed their curiosity.
Creative opportunities are endless at Nolan through time spent in our MEF
funded STEM lab, computer lab, and visual arts classroom, as well as in music, physical education, and library with makerspaces. Students create, explore,
invent, and imagine throughout the day.
We welcome a partnership with our parents that involves special projects at
home and at school, volunteering with our Book Buddy literacy program, joining
and actively participating with the PTA, and/or becoming a Room Parent for the
class. These are some ways parents can support our Kindergartners. Highlights
of the year: Old MacDonald’s Farm, trick-or-treat
parade, Native American feast at Thanksgiving, The Polar Express Pajama Day, The Nature Center, STEM Carts for Recess, Dr. Welch’s
Dental Health Visit, Dr. Hatch’s Germ and Handwashing
To enter kindergarten for the 2022-23 school year,
students must be five years of age before August 15, 2022.
