Welcome to Nolan's Kindergarten!

  Nolan Kindergarten Families, 
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! We are very excited to have your child at Nolan! Students must be five years of age by August 15, 2023 to enter kindergarten. We want to encourage you to get involved and actively participate in your child’s education. Parent involvement is critical to the success of our Knights! Nolan Campus Volunteer Work Day, 8:30-10am

Great fellowship opportunity! Bring family & friends. Meet at Nolan’s front doors @8:30am to spruce up the campus.  We will be picking up sticks, spreading mulch, trimming bushes, planting flowers, & weeding. Bring: weed eaters, gloves, blowers, rakes, wheelbarrows, & clippers.

Friday, August 5

Registration Fair & Meet Your Teacher Day ~ 8:30-10:00am

Bring your children and self-tour Nolan, visit with teachers and see classrooms, visit related arts teachers, confirm phase-in days for kindergarten, join PTA, shop Nolan sportswear for monthly spirit days, purchase a student/parent directory, receive pre-ordered school supplies, partner with MEF, sign up for before and after care (SACC), receive updated bus routes, pay fees, purchase a birthday book for Nolan’s library in honor of your child, learn about volunteer opportunities, and more.

Wednesday, August 10

First Day of School for 1st – 5th Graders

Hours: 8:40 am – 3:40 pm

Doors Open: 8:15 am

Register for School Age Child Care (SACC), if your child needs to arrive early or stay late. SACC hours: 6am-8:15am and 3:40-6pm

Kindergarten Phase-In Days

Your child will only come to school two of the four phase-in days. August 11 & 16 0r August 12 & 17. Lowering the teacher-to-pupil ratio will ensure that your child has a smooth transition into kindergarten. Arrival & dismissal times are adjusted during phase-in to make the experience smooth and more personalized as new students and families learn the routines.  

Phase-in Only: Drop Off: 9am. Please walk your child into school & check in with kindergarten teachers in the gym. Families will say good-byes in the gym.

Phase-in Only: Carline Pick Up: 3pm or your child may stay & ride the bus departing at regular dismissal time - 3:40pm.

Times are staggered to accommodate parking; however, families are invited to drop-in at a time that best suits their schedule. Your child will tour your family and share about related arts and their school day.

To complete registration, you will need a few documents for uploading:

Required Documents to Enroll

  • Two (2) Proofs of Within Nolan School Zone Residency
  • Tennessee School Immunization Certificate
    • If a student is entering Hamilton County Schools for the first time, the physical exam must have been completed in the last 12 months.
    • Immunizations must be up to date.
  • Certified Copy of Child's Birth Certificate
  • Photo ID of the parent or legal custodian of the child

Important Registration Information: 

Parents are required to complete Steps 1 and 2 for their child to be placed on a class roster for 2022-2023.  


Step 1: To Register: Students Brand New to HCS - Grades K-12 - Hamilton County Schools (hcde.org) 


Step 2: Required Proofs of Residency: As part of the registration process, parents are required to submit two proofs of in-Nolan-zone residency to [email protected]please include your child’s name in the subject lineStudents will be placed on a class list for next year once proofs of residency are provided and verified. Your proofs of residency may include current lease or purchase agreements, utility bills (May, June, or July 2022), or other district-approved documentation reflecting the custodial parent’s name and the address within the Nolan zone.  All residency documentation and registration information will be reviewed. If everything is in order, you will not be contacted after you submit your proofs. Parents will be notified via email or phone if any additional information is needed. If there are residency questions, the school social worker may conduct home visits as needed to verify residency. If you no longer reside within Nolan’s school zone, you will need to register at your new home-zoned school or apply for a hardship waiver at the Equity Office at central office www.hcde.org
