Dear Nolan Families,


During the window of September 7 through 24, all Hamilton County elementary schools will again unite in a campaign to sell 60,000 coupon books!  Now in its 31st year, the Kids First program has raised millions of dollars for our schools. Technology upgrades and additions have been made, classroom resources have been purchased, and academic programs have been made possible by way of this campaign.  This year, our goal is to sell 3,600 coupon books to raise over $25,000 for our school. With the proceeds, we plan to continue funding necessary technology upgrades.


The cost of each book is only $10 and offers thousands of dollars in savings!  As a reminder, seventy percent of the funds raised remain at the school level with the remainder being used to support other educational programs coordinated by the Hamilton County Schools Fund for Excellence.  As a preview, each student will bring home a coupon book on the afternoon of Friday, September 7th along with an order form.  If your family chooses to participate and sell this preview book along with other books, simply send in the $10 for the preview book along with the money for any other books that need to be ordered.  Each day that your child brings money in for coupon books, that number of coupon books will be sent home for your family to distribute. If your family chooses not to participate, simply return the preview book back to your teacher as we will have other students needing those coupon books to fill orders.


In closing, we want to remind our families that although participation in selling coupon books is voluntary, your involvement is greatly appreciated as the vast majority of these funds provide resources that directly impact each of our Nolan students.  To assist with goal-setting, you will find a list of this year’s incentives by sales level on the back of this letter. Students who sell 1 coupon book will receive a pajama day pass for September 28th and students who are able to sell 10 books individually or 15 books as a family will also participate in inflatable activities that will be scheduled following the sale. Understanding that not all of our students will be able to participate, we will have an incentive for all students of an additional recess time on this day in recognition of our school-wide sales efforts.
