April 9, 2018

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The time is here for our annual TN Ready TCAP testing for students in grades 3through 5!  Under the new current format, students will test in the areas of reading, math, science, and social studies on different days over a 3-week period.  All testing will be in paper and pencil format with no online testing taking place this year.  Please note that students will only test on certain days per the following schedule:

  • Monday, April 16 – Reading Part 1
  • Tuesday, April 17 – Science
  • Wednesday, April 18 – Reading Parts 2 and 3
  • Thursday, April 19 – Make-Up Testing
  • Friday, April 20 – Make-Up Testing
  • Monday, April 23 – Reading Part 4
  • Tuesday, April 24 – Math Part 1
  • Wednesday, April 25 – Math Parts 2 and 3
  • Thursday, April 26 – Social Studies
  • Friday, April 27 – Make-Up Testing
  • Friday, May 4 – Final Day for Make-Up Testing

Testing will take place during the first part of each day from approximately 9:00 to 11:00 each morning.  Most of the tests will last approximately 45 minutes.

Our students and teachers have worked hard throughout the year in preparation to display their knowledge and learning during this year’s assessments.  Please encourage your child to do their absolute best work throughout the week and please be mindful of the following recommendations as well:

  • Students must be in class prepared for testing no later than 8:45 each morning.  Students who arrive late will remain in the office until that morning’s testing session is complete and will have to participate in make-up testing.  Any necessary appointments should be scheduled for the late afternoon or a later date.

  • Please continue to be consistent with evening and morning routines and make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and has a good, nutritious breakfast that will sustain their energy levels.

In closing, we want to thank each of our families for your ongoing support of our students, teachers, and school.  Thanks for all that you do as we look forward to a great window of testing!
