Good Evening Nolan Families - We wanted to take a moment to share some reminders regarding our TN Ready TCAP testing schedule for students in grades 3 through 5 and to share some informational updates as well.

TN Ready TCAP testing will begin tomorrow with students taking reading part 1.  This will be the only test administered this week per the state schedule, and then we will resume testing next week with students taking math parts 1 and 2 on Monday, April 24, reading parts 2 and 3 on Tuesday, April 25, math part 3 on Wednesday, April 26, and reading part 4 on Thursday, April 27.  Make-up testing will take place on Friday, April 28 and regular testing will resume with students taking the social studies assessment on Wednesday, May 3 and the science assessment on Thursday, May 4.  Any additional make-up testing will then take place on the final day of the testing window on Friday, May 5.

As a reminder, students must be in attendance and arrive on time each day as they will not be allowed to enter class once a testing session has started.  Please continue to be consistent with evening and morning routines while ensuring that your child gets a good night's sleep and has a good, nutritious breakfast each morning.  In addition, any necessary appointments should be scheduled for the afternoon or a later date.

In closing, we also want to share that a scheduling conflict has come up for our planned visit from renowned children's author, Patricia Polacco.  Although Mrs. Polacco will not be visiting the Chattanooga area as planned, we will plan to keep our schedule the same with our character assembly taking place this Friday, April 21 beginning at 1:30.

Finally, we wanted to let all of our families know that our front door controlled entry system is now operational.  You may recall that this feature was added by the district as part of our recent expansion project and we are very glad that it is now in place.  In regards to procedures, all parents and guests must push the button located near the front door video screen to request entry.  Our office staff will be monitoring the system, and will buzz visitors in following the procedures we have in place.  On certain days such as assembly days, classroom party days, etc., the door system will be unlocked as our guests will check in with our staff members stationed in the lobby and near our side parking lot entry door to receive a visitor's badge.  As always, thanks for your support as we continue to work together to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for our students.
